NEERA SHARMA
Head Legal Department

MTS Legal Conferred the Young Achiever Award 2013

Our colleague, Neera Sharma, Head, Legal Department, made MTS India proud when she was conferred with the prestigious Young Achiever Award 2013 in the In-house Lawyer Category.
Instituted by Legal Era, India’s leading legal and corporate awareness magazine, the Indian Legal Awards recognize the achievements of law firms, teams and individuals who are responding most successfully to the demands being placed on them in the business environment. The awards have been divided into individual, team and firm categories that have been carefully chosen to reflect the range of practice areas and skills that lie at the heart of a successful law firm or legal department.
The award is therefore a matter of tremendous pride for MTS, as it reflects the excellence we have achieved in one of our key functions. What is truly exciting for us is the fact that Neera won the award following a rigorous selection process which was based on research and voting by an elite panel of judges. This panel undertook a stringent review of the performances of all the nominated individuals over the past 12 months, finally selecting the winners. There were more than 35 nominations from various corporates including but not limited to IDFC, Axis, Vodafone, Bharti, Idea, Coca-Cola, Viacom18, Monsanto, Geometric, the GMR group, among others.

SANDEEP ARAVIND
Kerela Vigilance Team

Sandeep Aravind made a difference in the fight against crime:

The MTS vigilance team made the company proud when it helped solve two big criminal cases in the Kerala state. Thanks to the grit and determination displayed by our colleague Sandeep Aravind, Kerala Circle Nodal Officer and Sabu Sahadevan, CVH, they saved four girls from the clutches of criminals. Their timely and instant actions with the Law Enforcement Agencies helped to track down the minor girls and apprehending the criminals involved. They were duly recognized by the Alleppy Cyber cell and Superintendent of Police, Ernakulam District.

The vigilance team got a service request from Alleppy Cyber Cell on 21/6/2014, stating that, three minor girls have been missing from Alleppey under mysterious circumstances. The district Police chief personally called requesting for assistance, Sandeep stepped into action which resulted in the rescue of the girls while they were on move.

Second case was received from the Superintendent of Police, Ernakulam District, where a girl was missing from Kochi. Again with his vigor and determination was able to trace the missing girl and rescue her before any dire consequences. The Superintendent of Police sent his own note of appreciation and conveyed his gratitude for our co-operation and extra efforts in helping resolve the case of a missing girl in Kochi.
